Title: Buttermilk Biscuits

2cUnbleached all-purpose flour
2tsBaking powder
1tsSalt
1/2tsBaking soda
6tbSolid vegetable shortening, butter or margarine
2/3cButtermilk

Makes 18 to 20 small biscuits

Preheat oven to 45 F. Grease baking sheet. Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Cut in shortening, butter or margarine. Add buttermilk, blending thoroughly. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead lightly for about 1 minute. Roll dough to thickness of 1/2 inch and cut into rounds. Transfer to baking sheet and bake until lightly browned, about 10 to 12 minutes.
